* Here's a useful tutorial on getting started on calibrating your TV - http://www.videouniversity.com/articles/color-bars-and-how-to-use-em/* Sony Blu-Ray Discs have the test images in all of their movies.
Just press 7 - 6 - 6 - 9 from the main menu and the images will start cycling through. Use the chapter button to go back/forward and pause to hold the image.
Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHow does one adjust the advanced settings on this tv? Thanks in advance!
ReplyDeleteHi Josh,
ReplyDeleteYou have to enable them by going into "Setup > Advance (Calibration)" and setting it to "On".
Once you have done that, then you can go into "Picture > Advanced Settings".
Hope that Helps!

ReplyDeleteHey, thanks for the settings! Althouigh im sure hdtvtest havent reviewed the et5, the hdtvtest settings on here are for the et50 which is an active set and uses a different panel to the et5, please correct me if im wrong?
ReplyDeleteRegards Daniel.
Hi Daniel,
ReplyDeleteYes, you are right, the settings are for the ET50 but i've found they still look pretty good on the ET5.
As far as I understand, the ET50 uses a Panasonic IPS Panel, while the ET5 uses one from LG.
Hope that helps!

So does anyone have an official calibration setting for TC-L55ET50? pls share
ReplyDeleteThe TC-L42ET5 does not have the advanced menu. Can someone confirm?
ReplyDeleteMy TC-L42ET5 does not have the advanced settings either, no individual color adjustment. It is running firmware v.1.230
ReplyDeleteThe menu options appear slightly different than those in the images at the top of this page. I have put in two calls to Panasonic support and both agents informed me that this panel does not have the ability to adjust individual color gain, etc. Is anyone more in the know on this strangety?
Hold hard “vol minus” on display body, while pressing “info” three times on the remote.
ReplyDeleteAdvanced menu should appear...
You're welcome...
hard minus and info x3 brings up a test menu onscreen for checking parameters (?). Does not bring up the advanced settings menu for calibration adjustment. Unless I am doing something wrong. Thanks for the info, but any additional would help.

ReplyDeleteedit. found this below: allows to make some adjustments (not sure if different than in normal menu). But cant seem to find a way to enter into "advanced picture menu" to adjust white balance, etc L55ET5 US version.
Link to enter service menu :
1.Hold down the {VOL -} button ON THE TV.
2.Press the {RECALL} or {INFO} button 3 times on the remote.
3.The Service Menu will be displayed.
1.Use {1} {2} on remote to navigate main menu items.
2.Use {3} {4} on remote to navigate sub-menu items.
3.Use {VOL+} {VOL -} on remote to change item value.
4.Power off to exit service mode and save.
